After the death of his wife, the result of a foolish quarrel with his son, Bartholomew vowed never again to lift a finger in violence. Since his arrival in Aegadon, he has sought high and low looking for his son, seeking redemption for the wounds of the past. To reach his goal he will hawk his magical wares to whomever gives him an iron cut for his concoctions, always staying one step ahead of the Magisters who seek him and the Rift Wardens he forsook.
